I guess I've always loved the outdoors, from a kid who woke up in a morning grabbed his football and stayed out until tea time, to the young man who played football at a local amateur level, then the middle aged man who discovered running followed by Ultra running. Its always been in me to get outside and enjoy the fresh air.

In my mid 40's, after my football days were over and I had piled a bit of weight on, I started walking/hiking and soon was addicted to climbing hills and mountains in the Lake District and Yorkshire Dales. The views were just stunning and although I was a grump all the way up, it was so worth it when I sat at the peak to look around a little piece of heaven. The more I saw the more I wanted and this is where my photography journey began.

I started with photos from my phone and soon realised I needed something better. I bought a bridge camera, a Panasonic DMC-FZ38, and immediately I started seeing a huge difference in the quality. I seemed to have a knack for composition and as I started posting online, people started commenting on how good the photographs were. This fuelled my passion even more and from that point I was hooked. Now I get out at every opportunity, whether it be on a walk with my very patient and understanding wife Linda, on one of my e-bike rides or just out on my own working on a new project.

My eyes are always open and my camera is always at hand as I try hard to capture as much of this amazing world as I can.
